What can i do? Thanks for this post. Is there a way to get someone to either give their email or to share on FB, Twitter etc before they are allowed to download a pdf version? Yes it is possible. Please see our guide on how to add content upgrades in WordPress and grow your mailing list.

I dont know what should I do. The plugin authors released a new version of the plugin with RTL support. Additionally, you can click on the Advanced tab to upload your own font to be used with the PDF. You can collaborate with plugin authors and help them troubleshoot any issues you may come across. Thank you! This article is wonderfully filled with wonder!

And not a moment too soon either. Each time I needed the solution I did a quick search but had to do some other type workaround. Kindly Check properly before reposting old articles. You can similarly link an image, button, or any other element so that when the reader clicks on it, the download is triggered automatically. This way we can link various file types with different elements to create downloadable files with WordPress.

You can use them to share images, documents, guides, infographics, templates, and other useful resources with your visitors. If you have any doubt about the process above, reach out to us in the comments below. For example, if you want to share restaurant menus, tour itineraries, course materials, or ebooks, you could consider embedding this content as PDFs on your website.

Visitors can then read, download, or print the PDF files as needed. In this tutorial, we look at two quick and easy methods to help you upload and embed a PDF file in WordPress. Using a WordPress plugin to embed a PDF file into a page or a post of your website is a method we would advise for WordPress beginners, as it is the quickest and easiest option.

There are numerous plugins available for this job, each offering something slightly different:. All of the above plugins are great options, but our recommendation is to use PDF Embedder. It is a free WordPress plugin that will enable you to upload and embed PDFs straight into any page or post of your website.

By default, PDF Embedder automatically displays PDFs at their original size if they are too big they will just fill the width available. You can also specify a width and height for any PDF you embed. All JavaScript and other files are served by your own server, so no potentially unreliable third party is involved.

Then, in the plugin search function, type in PDF Embedder. Once the plugin has been retrieved, select Install Now , then Activate. You will find PDF Embedder has now been installed on your website. To learn more about how to install a WordPress plugin, check out our step-by-step guide too.

Once you have configured the settings, remember to click on Save Changes at the bottom of the page. Open the post or page where you want to display the PDF. Then from within the Editor , click on Add Media. Unfortunately, lots of people use unordered lists to list links to PDF files. And lots of people link to PDF files from within a paragraph. If you still want to link to PDF files in this way, I recommend that you install the Classic Editor and continue to use that until Gutenberg includes these features.

The nice thing about this method is that you can enjoy the advantages of the new Block Editor while still using features you need from the Classic Editor. You can install the Classic Editor even if you already installed WordPress 5. Furthermore, once the Classic Editor is installed, you can open any post or page using the Classic editor.

Finally, if you want to continue using the Block editor, there is a workaround to add PDF links to paragraphs and lists. Note: If you link to a MS Word. Click here if you want to link to an MP3 file. This procedure works on Gutenberg Paragraph and List blocks. When I change the blocks to a bulleted list, it makes it one block.

Hi Laura, I agree, there are some issue with Gutenberg that need to be worked out. Not being able to easily link to files from within a block is unacceptable. There are a couple things you can do to work around the PDF issue. That allows you to continue to use the classic editor with WordPress 5.
