Tuition and Fees. Class Format: Nursing major courses are completed in two calendar years six semesters. The majority of nursing courses are offered one at a time. Nursing courses are eight weeks in length and are delivered in a predominantly in-seat learning environment that also includes online learning components.

Classroom and lab experiences are offered on various days of the week. Grand Junction is connected to live Lakewood instruction via a teleconference video conferencing system.

Labs and simulations are held in Lakewood and in Grand Junction. Students typically complete clinical hours within a home-based hospital or hospital system. CCU attempts to place students near their place of residence; however, this is not a guarantee and travel may be required.

Students have self-directed learning preceptorships with nurses practicing in their home communities and in leadership positions in health care institutions close to their homes.

These practicums may be in public schools, public health departments, community clinics, churches, and various other agencies that provide health care. Some states require specific educational requirements, clinical requirements, accreditation requirements, or exam requirements.
